Compressed/Zipped Files

If you are unfamiliar with 'Zipping' files, read this to get started.

Afterwards you should be able to unzip any zipped up file you have downloaded, by running WinZip on your own PC, without any problems. If you still are having trouble, contact the tutor at: tutor@ashwarp.com

1. Download the file onto your harddisk. For this tutorial I will use the file Lottoking01.zip as an example.

2. Go to the directory where you have downloaded the file and doubleclick on it, or click on it using the right mousebutton and when the menu appears click on open. You should see something resembling the following picture.

3. Select the files inside the Winzip window. In this case they are the Setup.lst, setup.exe and Lottoking.cab files. You can do this be marking them with the mouse, or by clicking on the 'Action' menu and then clicking on 'Select All'. An example appears in the following picture.

4. Afterwards you can extract the files to the directory of your choice. All the files must be extracted to the same directory for the setup program to run correctly. Once you have selected the files, open the 'Action' menu and click on 'Extract'. See the picture above.

5. You will then be given a choice of which directory you can extract the files to. This can be any directory on your harddrive/PC. In the following example we have used the "C:\download" directory on our test machine.

You can use any directory of your choice.

6. After you have extracted the files go to the directory you have extracted them to and doubleclick on the 'Setup.exe' file. The Setup program will start and you need do nothing more than follow the instructions.

Winzip is a shareware program. If you do not have Winzip on your machine you can download it and find more information at their website: http://www.winzip.com/
